Welcome to our home on the web!
We strive to provide accurate information concerning our business, our products, and our commitment to growing a healthy and beneficial herb for daily life. Explore our site to see how we work to accomplish that goal.
We are a small farm committed to producing limited quantities of handmade lavender products, striving for the highest quality at a reasonable price giving our customers an exceptional value.
Established in 2002, Prairie Lavender Farm resides on the cusp of the tallgrass and shortgrass prairies of North-central Kansas. It also sits on the South side of a hill above the Dakota Aquifer and upon a sandstone shelf, which gives great drainage for the lavender plants.
We now grow over 4600 plants with twelve varieties of Lavender. We are located in Zone 5; however, we experience a range from zones 4-6 with temperatures from below 0 degrees F to over 110 degrees in the summer months of July to early September.
May 1 and May 8, 2021 8 AM to 1 PM Herb, Flower & Vegetable Sale
June 19, 2021 8 AM to 3 PM Annual Lavender Festival CANCELLED!
We were honored to win the 2019 award for one of the highest visited farms in Kansas.
We offer tours during our open season, and by appointment other times. We open in June through July, Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM. We schedule large tour groups by appointment. Visitors can ask anytime during our open hours or make an appointment.
We have special events scheduled throughout the year. Check our 'Events' for details on those ranging from our Lavender Festival in June to classes and farm to table dinners.
If you wish to take pictures here, there is no charge unless you are a professional planning to profit from our hard work of preparing our fields. If you are interested in bringing clients out for a photo shoot, please contact us to schedule.
We are now the oldest lavender farm in Kansas! This is our nineteenth season of growing lavender and providing our own, safe line of products. We also offer advice and enthusiasm to those wishing to grow lavender. Mike Neustrom, our owner helped found the United States Lavender Growers Association and served seven years on the Board of Directors; the last three years as President stepping down in March 2018.
